Biography

2008 (Freshman): Received the team’s MVP award…Named to the Morgan State All-Academic first team…Played in all 91 games played, leading Morgan State in assists (560), attack percentage (.210) and service aces (24)…Added 69 kills and was third in digs (124) and blocks (28)…Tallied double figures in assists in 26 of the 28 matches played and recorded two double-doubles…Notched her second double-double of the season, finishing with a career-high 42 assists and a career-high 11 digs at Delaware State (10/31). Also tied a season-best with six kills and added two blocks and an ace…Totaled 10 digs and 22 assists and four kills at Howard (10/24)…Finished with a career-high six service aces, two kills, 14 assists and three blocks versus Saint Francis-N.Y. (9/12), to help the Lady Bears record their first win of the season…Tallied 16 assists, five kills, two aces, three digs and three blocks against Florida Atlantic (9/5) during the Kangaroo Klassic…Named to the Quinnipiac Invitational All-Tournament team…Had her best outing of the tournament against host Quinnipiac (8/29), recording six kills, 30 assists and six blocks…Made her Morgan State debut in the season-opener against Rhode Island (8/29) at the Quinnipiac Invitational, finishing with two kills, an ace and four digs.

 

High School: Was a three-sport standout in volleyball, basketball and track and field, while at Quaker Valley High School…Garnered 2006-07 Female Athlete of the Year honors by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and was named 2008 Female Athlete of the Year by the Beaver County/Allegheny Times…Was a four-time All-Section 6-AA and a two-time All-Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) selection at setter…As a senior was named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Class AA All-State team…Was coached by Jim Walls…Led the squad in assists, rebounds, steals and scoring as a member of the basketball team from her sophomore to senior seasons…Was a four-time All-Section 6-AA selection and was named to the All-WPIAL team as a junior and senior...Coached by Curtis Williams…Helped the Quaker’s track and field team to a total of three WPIAL championships, including back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008 and a runner-up finish as a sophomore in 2006…Finished her career as a three-time Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) champion in the 100 meter dash…Concluded her senior season as a four-event champion in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 100 meter hurdles and the 4X100 relay team at the WPIAL championships for the second consecutive year, while setting the WPIAL championship record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.30…Captured four gold medals, winning the 100 and 200 meter dashes, 100 hurdles and was a member of the 4X100 relay team at the WPIAL Class AA outdoor track championships as a junior and finished runner-up in the 100 hurdles at the PIAA State meet…As a senior, finished second in the 100 meter dash and the 400 meter relay and placed third in the 100 meter hurdles and the 200 meter dash at the PIAA State meet…Ended her career on the All-time WPIAL Girls Top 25 lists in the 100 meter hurdles (14.3), 100 meter (11.7) and 200 meter (24.98) dashes…Graduated with a 4.5 GPA…Named 2007-08 Tribune Review Outstanding Young Citizen, Student of the Month-January 2005, Outstanding National Achievement Scholar and earned the Distinguished honor roll award for four years…Was involved with a variety of high school activities, including serving as a student school board representative, National Honor Society, culture club leader, teen choir director, French club, tutoring, prom committee, and the Quaker Valley Girls computer club.

 

Personal: Born April 22, 1990, in Hahn Air Base, Germany…Daughter of Darren Sr. and LaTonya Rogers…Brother Darren Jr. plays football at Gardner Webb and sister Jasmine Rogers ran track at Delaware State from 2006-08…Major is electrical engineering…Career ambition is to become a commercial airline pilot…Hobbies include cooking, shopping and scrapbook keeping.
