Flowers earns spot on 2013 CFPA Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced its watch list for the 2013 CFPA Kickoff Returner of the Year Award, and Chris Flowers earned a spot of the list. Flowers joins teammates Joe Rankin and Christopher Robinson

The preliminary watch list highlights 34 returning performers, vying for the top national kick return specialist award in the Football Championship Subdivision.

"Congratulations to Chris Flowers on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Morgan State has produced a number of outstanding kick returners. As a senior in 2013, Flowers will be one of the nation's top kick return specialists to watch."

Flowers started in all 11 games and completed the 2012 season with 16 catches for 198 yards (12.4 avg) and a touchdown. He was also a true special teams asset as  he ranked No. 8 in the FCS in kickoff returns by averaging 27.8 yards per return.

His most memorable play from last season was in Week 5 during the Bears Homecoming contest against Savannah State. Against the Tigers, the Haines City (Fla.) product, scored on a sensational 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  His career-high return gave the Bears a 7-6 lead in the first quarter and MSU would go on to outscore Savannah State by a margin of 38-0.
