With 1:54 remaining in the game, the Pirates got the ball on Morgan State’s 42-yard line for what would be the final drive of the game on Saturday at Armstrong Stadium. On this final drive, the Pirates committed three penalties and lost a total of 51 yards, which ended in a 44-yard field goal attempt by freshman Jordan Stovall that came up short, giving the Bears a 16-13 win on Hampton's Senior Day.

The Morgan State football team continues its 112th season of football on Saturday, Nov. 21 as they conclude the 2009 season when they  travel to square-off against Hampton in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action at Armstrong Stadium in Hampton, Virginia. The Bears (5-5) losing streak was extended to four games as a result of a 37-13 loss last Saturday against top-ranked South Carolina State who clinched the MEAC Title with the win. Hampton enters this weekend’s matchup coming off a surprising 25-0 shutout against Florida A&M. The Pirates improved to 5-5 overall and are 3-4 in the MEAC. The contest will be broadcast live on WEAA, 88.9FM.

The top-ranked Bulldogs of South Carolina State took care of business on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Dawson Bulldog Stadium in front of 10,542 fans. Malcolm Long threw four touchdown passes and OliverTre Young accounted for 313 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Morgan State 37-13 Saturday for its 18th consecutive Mid –Eastern Athletic Conference win and clinched its second straight MEAC Title.
