Christopher Robinson earns spot on 2013 CFPA Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced its watch list for defensive linemen, and Morgan State's Christopher Robinson earned a spot on the list. The preliminary watch list highlights thirty-eight returning performers, vying for the top individual defensive end and defensive tackle awards in the Football Championship Subdivision.

"Congratulations to Christopher Robinson on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Robinson will be one of the top defenders to watch in the MEAC in 2013."

The linebacker and physical education major has a 3.53 GPA and will be a redshirt-junior on the field this fall. He also earned a starting spot on the Bears defense as a walk-on in 2012, after recording 40 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

Robinson, a Baltimore native and Dunbar High product, earned a spot on the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Academic first team and was named to Morgan State's 2012-13 First Team All-Academic Team.

All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration.

Spiller (Clemson), Sam Acho (Texas), Chas Henry (Florida), and Bryan Anger (California).
