Williams Named MEAC Rookie Of The Week

NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 30, 2012)-Freshman forward/center Amarah Williams was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced this afternoon by the conference office. It was the second honor this season for Williams who also earned it earlier in the month on Jan. 7th.
 
A 6-foot-2 native of St. Louis, Mo., Williams scored a career-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds against North Carolina Central (1/23) to record her third double-double of the season. Williams then tallied six points, eight rebounds and two steals in Saturday's game at Norfolk State.
