COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Morgan State never found an offensive rhythm tonight, but Maryland never seemed to lose theirs.

Maryland's offense was nearly perfect in the first half against Morgan State, in the first gridiron meeting between the two schools.
Jamarr Robinson was 6-for-14 for 70 yards and two touchdowns before being replaced in the second quarter by Danny O'Brien who threw three touchdowns, helping the Terps run up a quick 45-point lead before calling in the reserves in a 62-3 romp over Morgan State on Saturday night.

"They were just a much better team than us today, bottom line," said MSU coach Donald Hill-Eley. "When they were able to get out and make their plays, we fell behind. We just have to learn to play faster, play a lot harder, and make our plays."
Maryland (2-0) scored on its first three possessions, with Robinson tossing touchdown passes to Torrey Smith (5 yds) and Adrian Cannon (19 yds), and Travis Baltz hit a 47-yard field goal to give the Terps a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Donovan Dickerson had one of the roughest nights of his collegiate career. The sophomore completed 7-of-28 passes for 48 yards and threw two picks, one of which was returned by Demetrius Hartsfield for the first score of the second quarter. Maryland reserve quarterback O'Brien tossed three touchdowns in just four pass attempts to push the lead to 45-0 by halftime.

"During the first half I put it all on myself," said Dickerson. "I think I came out a little bit too jittery and it took me a minute to calm down. But once I finally relaxed, it seemed like they (Maryland) were bringing even more pressure, so I just tried to do my best."
Morgan State didn't get a first down until the end of the first quarter when the Terps were flagged for a personal foul. The Bears completed the game with nine first downs, five of which were off of Maryland penalties. In fact, the Terps had more penalty yards (10-110 yds) than the Bears had in total offense (85 yds).
The second half was notable because Morgan State's #Kemar Scarlett3 connected on a 39-yard field goal to help the Bears avoid its first shutout since losing to Akron 41-0 in last year's season-opener.
Morgan State (1-1) has lost its last three games against BCS competition by a combined 141-3, also getting rolled by Akron last season and Rutgers in 2008.
"My hat goes off to Maryland," Hill said, "They made their plays and they played with a lot of enthusiasm."

"I talked to Coach [Ralph] Freidgen prior to the game about James Madison's upset against Virginia Tech, and I think that pretty much gave them a boost."
"We will learn from the loss and we're going to stick together as a team."
The Bears will travel to Fargo to square-off with the North Dakota State Bison next Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (EST).
