BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 25, 2010)-The Morgan State Lady Bears volleyball team begins their 2010 campaign this weekend when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take part in the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational co-hosted by Duquesne and Robert Morris.
The Lady Bears begin play on Friday, Aug. 27 at 1:30 p.m. against Saint Francis-Pa. and closes out the day against host Duquesne at 7 p.m. Both matches will take place at the A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne.
On Saturday, Morgan State will face Montana State at 3 p.m. at Duquesne, before closing out the tournament against co-host Robert Morris at 7 p.m. at the Charles L. Sewall Center on the campus of Robert Morris.
The Lady Bears’ 25-match schedule will feature eight home dates, including their home opener against Maryland-Baltimore County on Day 2 of the Battle of Baltimore, which is slated for Saturday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. at Hill Field House. Morgan’s first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division match will be on the road at three-time defending MEAC North champ, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) at 7 p.m.
Morgan’s annual Dig Pink match is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 17, against Delaware State and the Lady Bears’ homecoming match will be on Sunday, Oct. 24, against UMES at 3 p.m. at Hill Field House. This year’s MEAC championship will be hosted by Coppin State on Nov. 19-21, 2010.
