ALBURY SIGNS CFL CONTRACT

BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Morgan State football standout Gary Albury has signed his first professional contract with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

Albury, an Orlando (Fla.) product, was a talented safety during his three-year career at Morgan State. The 6-1, 200 pounder led one of the top secondary units in the nation.
Albury collected 35 solo and 21 assisted tackles for the Bears during the 2009 season. He registered 56 defensive tackles, five pass knockdowns, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 11 games during his senior year. 
He got his first start in 2008 as a junior at free safety and played mostly on special teams as a sophomore.  The Florida native transferred to Morgan State from the University of Mississippi. 
NOTE: MSU former standout Jarrell Guyton, the 2008 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, signed to play for the 2010 Montreal Alouettes.
