BALTIMORE, Md. -- Former Morgan State football standout Chad Simpson has signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.

Simpson, one of Morgan State head coach Donald Hill-Eley’s first recruits from Miami, was one of the premier running backs in the nation.
Simpson spent the last two NFL seasons with the Indianpolis Colts. Originally signed as a college free agent in 2008, Simpson was elevated from the Colts' practice squad to the team's active roster in Week 6 appearing in the final 11 games that season as a reserve running back and kick return specialist.
Last season, Simpson served the Colts in the same capacity appearing in 14 games, gaining a little over 100 yards on 15 carries (7.3 avg.) while scoring a pair of rushing touchdowns. He also set career-highs with 38 kickoff returns for 898 yards and a 93-yard touchdown.
A former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year at Morgan State, Simpson was released by Indianapolis on April 10. He turns 25 this August.
