Gowan, Griffin Named to Retriever Classic All-Tournament Team

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 8, 2010)-Morgan State senior Kriston Gowan and junior Tamra Griffin this afternoon were named to the all-tournament team of the Retriever Classic, which was hosted over the weekend by the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Joining Gowan and Griffin were Amanda Asay (Brown); Caitlin Bradac (Fairleigh Dickinson); Heather Brown, Lauren Brummell and Amanda Fefel (UMBC); Mikayla Fernandez (Fairleigh Dickinson); Kate Strobel and Stephanie Thompson (Brown); Jessica Vetock, Stephanie Weigman and Malorie Weller (UMBC). Weller was named MVP of the tournament.
The Lady Bears, who went 0-4 over the weekend, will be off until this Friday, March 12, when they return to UMBC to take part in the UMBC Dawg Pound Invitational (March 12-14. Morgan State will begin Friday with a 10 a.m. game against Seton Hall, followed by a 11:55 a.m. contest against host UMBC. On Saturday the Lady Bears will face Saint Francis at 4:10 p.m. and will conclude the tournament with a 1:50 p.m. contest against Drexel on Sunday.
