Morgan State’s Tamra Griffin was named to the All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) first team during last week's MEAC championship, as voted on by the league’s head softball coaches and sports information directors. It was the second consecutive first-team all-conference honor for Griffin.

The Morgan State softball team dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Howard on Sunday afternoon in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game at Lois T. Murray Field. The victory completed a three-game weekend series sweep for defending MEAC North Division champion and current league-leader Howard, while spoiling the Lady Bears’ Senior Day.

One day after ending a season-long 18-game losing skid, the Lady Bears softball team completed their weekend series with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) by recording their first three-game winning streak of the season, following a 14-13 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory over the Lady Hawks on Sunday afternoon at Lady Hawks Stadium.

If the Morgan State softball team never played another game this season on the Coppin State campus, they probably wouldn’t mind at all. For the last two weekends the Lady Bears have played at Coppin State and the results haven’t been positive, as they have dropped all six contests.
