BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 14, 2009)-Senior softball player Kriston Gowan was recently featured in the Elko (Nev.) Daily Free Press in an article written by Ryan Hope.

Morgan State sophomore third baseman, Tamra Griffin was named to the All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) first team during Wednesday’s pre-tournament banquet at the Center for Civil Engagement on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University. All-conference honors were voted on by the league’s head softball coaches and sports information directors.

What a difference a day can make for some and for others, a weekend can make. Less than 24 hours after firing its head coach, Howard responded to sweep a three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekend series against Morgan State. Howard won Saturday’s doubleheader 6-5 and 13-0, before claiming a 9-7 victory over Morgan State in Sunday’s finale at Banneker Stadium.

Morgan State freshman shortstop, Lydia Walther-Rodriguez was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week this afternoon, as announced by the league office. North Carolina A&T’s Ryanne Hill was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Norfolk State’s Alyssa Velazquez earned pitcher of the week accolades.

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 18, 2009)-Morgan State erupted for six runs in the third inning and sophomore pitcher #Megan Johnson# threw a game-high five strikeouts to lead the Lady Bears to an 11-3 victory in five innings over visiting Coppin State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game at Lois T. Murray Field on Saturday afternoon.
