Adams Named Second-Team ECAC All-Star

CAPE COD, Mass. (March 18, 2010)-Morgan State senior guard Corin Adams was named to the 2009-10 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star second team on Wednesday.

 

Tina Charles of Connecticut was named ECAC Player of the Year, while Elena Delle Donne of Delaware earned ECAC Rookie of the Year honors. Joining Charles and Donne on the first team were Monica Wright (Virginia), Judie Lomax (Columbia) and Maya Moore (Connecticut).

 

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Adams was named 2009-10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year and earned first-team All-MEAC honors for the third consecutive season. Adams averaged 19.4 points to lead the Lady Bears in scoring and recorded a team leading 106 steals and 104 assists. She added 4.1 rebounds and finished second on the team in blocks with 22. Adams became the first Morgan player (male or female) to score 2,000 points, finishing her career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,058 points.

 

Joining Adams on the second team was Dawn Evan (James Madison), Rachele Pitz (Marist), Jasmine Thomas (Duke) and Diana Delva (Hartford).

 

Fellow 2009-10 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, Quanneisha Perry of Hampton was a third team selection. Perry was joined by Sugar Rodgers (Georgetown), Chelsea Marandola (Providence), Michelle Kirk (American) and Angela Pace (Robert Morris).

 

The ECAC is the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference with approximately 300 member institutions and more than 122,000 student-athletes ranging from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois.
