The strength and conditioning program for Morgan State University is directed by MSU Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Josh Bush and assisted by Stefan Kunkoski. Coach Bush provides a direct strength training leadership role to the Bears athletic programs while coordinating off-season and in-season applications for remaining 13 MSU varsity sports.
MSU student-athletes have the use of two newly renovated weight rooms in Hill Field House. In all, there is over 3,000 square feet of strength and conditioning facilities available for all MSU student-athletes.
The newly renovated weight room was specifically designed and outfitted to meet the strength and conditioning needs of MSU athletic programs.
Coach Bush supervises strength and conditioning program specifically individualized for each athlete’s performance year round. Specific tests are performed by each to evaluate strength, speed, power, and conditioning. These tests provide the coaches and Sports Medicine staff with an accurate athletic profile on each student-athlete.
Within the last five years, the facility’s features took on a new look with the installation of $70,000 of new equipment. Included in the addition were 7 Olympic platforms, 5 Hi Lo racks, 3 full racks, 2 half racks, and three Gluteham machines.
Special thanks to the donations received from MSU football athlete, Visanthe Shiancoe.
