WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 7, 2018)-The Morgan State women's track and field team was back in action over the weekend, as the Lady Bears took part in the 53rd annual Colonial Relays held a Zable Stadium on the campus of the College of William & Mary.
The Lady Bears finished the three-day meet with a total of eight points scored and finished tied for 33rd with George Washington and fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
The University of Delaware won the women's title with a total of 68 points. Boston College placed second with 60 points and Mount St. Mary's scored 54.50 points to place third.
The Lady Bears would be led by their 4X200 meter relay team, which would score five points, following a fourth place finish on Saturday. The team of Annastacia Barham, Brittany Meads, Kevena Jones and Naomi Brown ran a time of 1:44.02 in the 4X200 College section.
Morgan State's other three points would also come on Saturday when senior Jasmyn Hall finished sixth in the discus throw championship section with a throw of 122-11.
Other top 20 performances came from freshman Jaida West, who came in 18th in the shot put university section on Saturday with a toss of 34-11.00.Â
On Friday, freshman Kimani Davis ran a time of 1:03.50 to place 12th in the 400 meter hurdles championship section.
Junior Rochelle Johnson placed 18th in the university section of the long jump with a leap of 16-08.00.
The Lady Bears return to action next week when they travel to Greensboro, N.C. to compete at the Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T State (April 13-14).
