COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 24, 2018)-Morgan State's 4X400 meter relay team finished second on Saturday at the Weems Baskin Invitational to lead the Lady Bears track and field team, which produced 13 top-10 finishes at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track facility on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
 
Valencia McDowell, Annastacia Barham, Brittany Meads and Infinnatie Rowe teamed together to run a time of 3:48.03 in the 4X400 relay.
 
Rowe also placed fourth in the 800 meter run-invitational, finishing in a time of 2:12.42. Chantai Smith (2:18.63) and McDowell (2:21.76) placed eighth and ninth, respectively.
 
Annastacia Barham placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.14 and also finished sixth in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line in 55.35 seconds. McDowell ran a time of 55.90 to finish ninth in the 400 meter dash and Meads placed 10th in 56.18 seconds. 
 
In the field, Jasmyn Hall finished sixth in the discus throw-open, with a throw of 134-10. Hall would also finish 10^th in the shot put-invitational with a throw of 40-01.50.
 
Jaida West had a toss of 40-03.50 to finish eighth in the shot put-open. Zhane Washington placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18-01.50, while also finishing ninth in the triple jump-invitational with a leap of 39-09.50.
 
The Lady Bears will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the 74th annual Pepsi Florida Relays (March 29-31), hosted by the University of Florida.
