COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 26, 2017)-The Morgan State women's track and field team ended Day 2 of the Weems Baskin Invitational with 10 top-10 finishes on Saturday at Sheila & Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
 
On the track, Valencia McDowell finished in fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.57, while Chantai Smith place 10^th in a time of 2:16.11. Ashley Souffrant (2:17.84) finished in 11th.
 
Charnice Anderson finished the 100 meter dash in a time or 11.92 seconds to place seventh.
 
Brittany Meads placed fifth in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line in 54.79 seconds and Annastacia Barham came in sixth recording a personal-best time of 54.83. Barham would also finish tied for 10th in the 200 meter dash, running yet another personal-best time of 24.09 seconds.
 
Barham would continue her productive day, competing in both of Morgan's relay teams which would finish in the top 10. Barham teamed with Chantai Smith, Valencia McDowell and Brittany Meads to run a time of 3:46.74 and come in fourth-place in the 4X400 meter relay. Barham then joined Charnice Anderson, Kevena Jones and Brittany Meads in the 4X100 meter relay and placed eighth with a time of 46.44 seconds.
 
Jasmyn Hall led the Lady Bears in the field events with her fourth-place finish in shot put with a personal-best throw of 44-11.50. Hall would also place sixth in the discus throw B section, following a throw of 123-07.
 
Next week the Lady Bears will visit yet another Southeast Conference institution, when they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the 73^rd annual Pepsi Florida Relays, held at Percy Beard Track on the campus of the University of Florida.
