Women’s Tennis Falls To Duquesne In Vartabedian Invite Finale

HARMARVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 15, 2017)-The Morgan State women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Duquesne by the score of 6-0 on Sunday morning in the finale of the Vartabedian Invite, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at the Alpha Tennis & Fitness Center.
 
The Dukes (1-1) took a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles' point, by splitting the two matches that were played. Duquesne then claimed the third match by way of default. Kayla Price and Katia Jordan of Morgan State were paired together at No. 1 doubles and defeated Megan Wasson and Sara Mitrovic, 7-5.
 
Duquesne then won all five of the singles matches that were played. Price went three sets with Duquesne's Aishwarya Kona at No. 4 singles, before falling 0-6, 6-4, 4-6.
 
Morgan State (0-2) will be off until Jan. 27-29, when it travels to Richmond, Va. to compete in the VCU 4-1, hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University.
