Hendrix Named National Player of the Week

BALTIMORE, MD. – Morgan State's Tyrone Hendrix was acknowledged for his individual performance against Delaware State on Oct. 25. Hendrix was named the National Kickoff Returner of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA), which was announced Monday.
 
Hendrix, a product of Tarpon Springs (Fla.), scored on a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  His career-high return gave the Bears a 14-7 lead with 12:56 remaining in the first half.
 
MSU would go on to fall to Hornets 28-23 as the Bears fell to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
 
It was Hendrix's second kickoff return for a touchdown in his career, and it tied the mark for the longest kickoff return for a touchdown in school history.
 
Morgan State currently leads the league in kick returns (ranked No. 8 in the FCS) by averaging 25.5 yards per return.
   
Morgan State continues the 2012 season play in a battle when they matchup against top-ranked Bethune-Cookman on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET at Hughes Stadium. The game will mark Senior Day for Morgan State and it will be the last home contest of the season.
