BALTIMORE, Md. (July 29, 2010)-Former Morgan State track and field athlete Dakari Taylor-Watson has been named a Fulbright scholar and will head to Malaysia in January to spend 10 months teaching English to secondary students in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia's capital and largest city.
Taylor-Watson, who graduated from Morgan State in May 2009 with a biology degree, was chosen by the international educational exchange program, sponsored by the state department based on academic merit and leadership potential to study and teach abroad.
While in Malaysia, Taylor-Watson will also volunteer in a hospital or clinic with an eye toward applying to medical school when he returns.
