Charles, Randall End Season on Day 1 of NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. (June 10, 2010)-The 2010 outdoor track and field season came to an end for Morgan State on Wednesday evening at Hayward Field on Day 1 of the NCAA Division I championships, hosted by the University of Oregon.

Morgan State, which hadn't had a qualifier for the championships since sending two in 2006, was being represented by sophomore Trey Charles on the men's side in the 400 meter hurdles and senior Allison Randall in the women's discus.

Both Charles and Randall placed sixth in their respective events two weeks ago at the NCAA East Regional Meet in Greensboro, N.C. to qualify for the championships.

Charles, a native of Atlanta, Ga. ran a time of 56.31 during Wednesday's preliminaries of the 400 meter hurdles to finish 23rd out of the nation's top 24 athletes in the event.

Randall, a native of Reisterstown, Md., however fouled on all three of her attempts in the discus throw and did not record a distance in Eugene.
