BALTIMORE, Md. (April 12, 2010)-The Morgan State women's bowling team finished the 2009-10 season ranked 19th in the final National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) National Poll.
Vanderbilt (67-24) claimed the top honor, beating out Maryland Eastern Shore, who was ranked No. 1 last month. Nine out of a possible 19 coaches listed Vanderbilt at the top of their ballot.
The Lady Bears finished the season 69-69 overall and went 14-16 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division play and placed fourth at the MEAC championships.
Fellow MEAC schools Maryland Eastern Shore (2nd), Delaware State (6th), Florida A&M (17th) and Norfolk State (20th) were also ranked in the poll.
Sophomore Keisheena Waldon received National Tenpins Coaches Association All-American honorable mention honors. The Seat Pleasant, Md. native led the Lady Bears with a total of 11,783 pins for an average of 196.3 and tallied a high game of 237 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division match against Coppin State (11/7).
