No. 3 Morgan State to Face No. 6 Bethune-Cookman in MEAC Quarterfinals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (March 10, 2010)-The Morgan State Lady Bears basketball team will take to the court on Thursday, March 11, when they take on the sixth-seeded Lady Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference quarterfinal game at noon at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

 

Morgan State (17-12), which enters the league tournament as the No. 3 seed, following its co runner-ups finish with No. 2 Hampton during the regular season, lost the only meeting between the two teams this season. Bethune-Cookman won the contest, 79-68 in Baltimore, Md. (2/8).

 

The Lady Wildcats (16-14) advanced to the quarterfinals with a 76-66 victory over No. 11 Norfolk State on Tuesday in an opening round game. Sarah Bolden came off the bench and scored a game-high 21 points, while Jalisa Isaac added 17 points.

 

Morgan State leads the all-time series, 26-24, but Bethune-Cookman holds a 1-0 lead in MEAC Tournament action. The Lady Wildcats defeated Morgan State 81-52 during the 2004 tournament.
