Keisheena Waldon placed 10th out of 180 bowlers at the Kutztown Invitational.
READING, Pa. (Jan. 31, 2010)-The Lady Bears had a fantastic weekend of bowling winning seven matches, while losing only three to place 10th out of 28 teams at the Kutztown Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, in the traditional team games, the Lady Bears won four matches and lost two. They defeated Penn State-Altoona (927-667), Vanderbilt (974-943), Adelphi (963-919) and Howard (974-771). They lost to host Kutztown (923-963) and Norfolk State (879-916).
On Sunday, in Baker matches for total pins, they won two matches without a lost. They defeated Cheyney (798-556) and North Carolina Central (747-644). In match play, best four out of seven, they won one match and lost one match. In the first match, they defeated Adelphi 4 games to 2 and in the final match for 10th-place, they lost to Vanderbilt in a roll off after tying 3 ½ to 3 ½ in regulation play.
The most outstanding individual performer for the Lady Bears was Keisheena Waldon, who averaged 213 with a high game of 231 and placed tenth in a field of 180 bowlers.
The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the Delaware State Invitational in Dover, Del. at the Brunswick Doverama Bowling Lanes. Competition begins on Saturday, February 6th at noon and Sunday, February 7th at 8:30 AM.
