Benjamin Named MEAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Jan. 29, 2010)-Morgan State senior Tyron Benjamin was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Friday.
Benjamin set a school record, while winning the shot put with a throw of 58-11.75 feet at the Great Dane Classic. He also became a NCAA provisional qualifier with his performance. A native of Giraudel, Dominica, Benjamin’s throw leads the MEAC and is 12th in the nation this season in the event.
This is the first MEAC track honor for Benjamin or any Bear this season.
