LAUREL, Md. (Jan. 24, 2010)-The Lady Bears had another great weekend of bowling in the Bowie State Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24, winning seven matches, while losing only three and placed fourth in a field of 19 universities.

 

On Saturday in the traditional team games, the Lady Bears won three matches and lost two. They lost to Norfolk State (870-933) and Saint Peter’s (839-912). They defeated Florida A&M (995-970), Hampton (998-857) and Coppin State (921-689).

 

On Sunday in the Baker format, the Lady Bears were fantastic, winning four matches, while losing only one. Morgan State’s lone loss came to Saint Francis-NY (672-706). The Lady Bears defeated Bowie State (772-691), Adelphi (743-658), Penn State-Altoona (809-659) and Lincoln-Pa. (813-587).

 

The most outstanding performer for the Lady Bears was Keisheena Waldon who finished with a tournament average of 205 and a high game of 228 and was named to the all-tournament team. Ashley Milbourne had a high game of 235, while Corey Lissik had a high game of 223.   

 

The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the Kutztown Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, January 30-31, in Reading, Pa.
