Keisheena Waldon averaged 202 pins and had a high game of 225, while placing 13th at the Mid-Winter Classic.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Jan. 18, 2010)-The Lady Bears bowling team returned to action over the weekend, winning eight matches, while losing six at the Mid-Winter Classic held last Friday through Sunday.
On Friday, Jan. 15, in the Baker matches, the Lady Bears won three matches, while losing two. They defeated Steven F. Austin (757-711), Delaware State (751-734) and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (827-785). They lost to host Arkansas State (663-790) and Nebraska (646-720).
On Saturday, in the traditional team games the Lady Bears again won three matches, while losing two. They defeated Alabama A&M (985-980), Winston-Salem State (883-674) and Mississippi Valley State (952-671). They lost to Central Missouri University, (943-1002) and Prairie View A&M (860-861).
On Sunday, in Baker matches, Morgan State won two matches, while losing two. They defeated Valparaiso (684-660) and Alabama State (692-588), but lost to Minnesota-Mankato (682-718) and then in the final position match they lost to Valparaiso (754-818).
The most outstanding performer for the Lady Bears was Keisheena Waldon. In a field of 83 bowlers, she placed 13th with an average of 202 and a high a game of 225. The high game of 226 for the team was rolled by Tylencia Selph.
The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the Bowie State Lady Bulldog Invitational at AMF Laurel Lanes in Laurel, Md. on Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24 at 9 AM.
