Men's Story
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (January 16, 2010)-The Lady Bears indoor track and field team continued their 2009-10 season competing at the Penn State University Northeast Challenge on Saturday at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. The Lady Bears had a productive outing with three participants placing in the top-five in three events.
Senior Allison Randall threw for 13.83m in the shot put earning her second place with fellow Lady Bear Rachelle Wade placing 12th with a toss of 9.12m. Randall also placed 11th in the weight throw event (14.40m).
Senior Avionne Sloan placed fifth and fifteenth, respectively, in the 500 meter (1:15.79) and the 200 meter (25.13) dashes. Junior Tanisha Kendrick placed 11th in the 00 Meter dash with a time of 56.94. Both Lady Bears’ 4x400 meter relay team of Sloan, Kendrick, Kamice Smalls and Mona Waller raced for a time of 3:58.92. Waller also placed fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.70m.
The Lady Bears will return to action this Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Great Day Classic in Albany, NY, hosted by the University of Albany.
