BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Morgan State Cheer Bears will compete in the Terrapin Classic competition this Saturday at the Comcast Center. The college divisions are scheduled to compete around 3:00 p.m. Other teams scheduled to compete include Virginia Tech, Stevenson, Fairmont State, and host Maryland.
The competition will provide an opportunity to showcase the talents of the 2008-09 Cheer Bears.

“This should prove to be a challenging competition for the Cheer Bears,” said MSU coach Theresa Gibson. “This will be the first time this year that they have competed against other collegiate teams.”

On Jan. 31st Morgan State competed at Temple University in the Cheer Tech competition against Level 6 Open All-Star Teams. The ladies competed against four teams in the Level 6 Open All-State Division and finished in first place.

“The Cheer Bears also captured the Grand Champion Trophy for the Open Level 6 Division,” said Gibson, “and that experience allowed us to better analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the team.”

Admission to the Terrapin Classic competition is $15 for adults and $7 for children.

The Cheer Bears will be performing an exhibition routine on Sunday, Feb 8th at the ACE Competition held at Morgan State.

The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. The competition will close with an exhibition by the MSU Cheer Bears.
