Keisheena Waldon averaged 192 pins and placed 11th out of 197 bowlers at the UMES Hawk Classic.
MILLSBORO, Del. (Nov. 22, 2009)-The Lady Bears won five (5) matches, while losing eight (8) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawk Classic held over the weekend to finish 14th overall.
On Friday, in the Baker matches, the Lady Bears lost five matches without a win. They were defeated by Fairleigh Dickinson (863-872), Saint Peter's (717-805), Southern (795-869), Arkansas State (854-956) and Kutztown (858-880).
On Saturday, in the traditional team games, the Lady Bears won three matches and lost two with wins over Saint Francis-N.Y. (858-839), Howard (838-683) and Bowie State (851-703). They lost to Delaware State (832-853) and Adelphi (844-933).
On Sunday, in Baker matches best four out of seven format, they won two matches while losing one. In the first match, they lost to Sacred Heart 1.5 games to 4.5 games. They defeated Hampton four games to none and Sacred Heart four games to one.
The most outstanding Lady Bear was Keisheena Waldon, who averaged 192 for five games and played 11th in a field of 127 bowlers.
The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the MEAC Northern Division competition at AMF Woodlawn in Woodlawn, Md. on Satuday, December 5 at noon and Sunday, December 6 at 9 a.m.
