Lady Bears go 5-5; Remain in Fourth in MEAC Standings

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (Nov. 15, 2009)-The Lady Bears competed in their second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) competition of the 2009-2010 season over the weekend hosted by Delaware State. Morgan State won five matches, while losing five to remain in fourth place in the MEAC Northern Division behind Delaware State, Maryland Eastern Shore and Hampton.

 

On Saturday, bowling in the traditional team games, the Lady Bears won two matches and lost three with wins over Howard (808-697) and Coppin State (807-702). They lost to Hampton (823-862), Delaware State (843-957) and Maryland Eastern Shore (845-986).  

 

On Sunday, bowling baker matches, best four out of seven, the Lady Bears won three (3) matches and lost two (2). They defeated Coppin State, (4-0), Howard (4-1) and Hampton (4-1). They lost to Maryland Eastern Shore (2-4) and Delaware State (0-4).

 

The most outstanding performer for the Lady Bears was sophomore Keisheena Waldon, who averaged 187 with a high game of 211 against Maryland Eastern Shore. The high individual game of 230 was rolled by senior Tylencia Selph against Hampton.

 

The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the Maryland Eastern Shore Invitational Tournament at Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, Del. on Friday, Nov. 20th beginning at noon, Saturday, Nov. 21st at 9 a.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22nd beginning at 9 a.m.
