The MSU Legacy Track Meet will acknowledge and honor student-athletes from the 1970's.
BALTIMORE, Md. - The 3rd annual Morgan State University Legacy Track & Field meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2006. The meet will be held at Hughes Stadium on the Morgan State campus.
MSU will host collegiate and club teams on its mondo track, one of the fastest tracks on the east coast. All alumni members, friends and families are invited to come out on this date to meet and greet old and new friends and to renew old acquaintances.
The meet was designed to pay honor to the rich and proud track and field legacy at Morgan State University. The MSU Legacy Track Meet is an annual event, with each meet acknowledging and honoring student-athletes from different decades.
The Inaugural Legacy Meet honored the athletes who performed under legendary coach Eddie Hurt from 1930-1959, while last year’s meet honored Morgan State track legends from the 1960's. This year’s meet will honor student-athletes from the 1970’s.
Competing institutions in the meet will include; Morgan State, Hampton, Coppin State, Delaware State, Cheney University, MD-Eastern Shore, and Norfolk State to name a few.
Again, all alumni and friends are encouraged to come out on Saturday, April 22 to pay homage to these former track greats and to see one of the top track stadiums on the East Coast.
Come one and all to support the Morgan State track program. They need your encouragement, and the University needs your support!
