DOVER, Del. (Oct. 2, 2009)-The Lady Bears’ cross country team was back in action on Friday evening, following a week off, competing at the Delaware State Invitational 5k run. Freshman Ashlee Nieves placed sixth overall with a time of 20:28.72 to help Morgan State to a fifth-place finish.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Sept. 19, 2009)-For the second week in a row the top two performers for the Lady Bears were freshmen Ashlee Nievess (20:17.11) and Jasmine Savage (21:34.60), who placed 34th and 40th, respectively, to help the team to an eighth-place finish (180 points) during Saturday morning’s Cappy Anderson Invitational 5k race, hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Vivian McCollum ran a personal-best time of 19:10.31 to place 15th overall at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) cross country championships on Saturday morning, hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). McCollum’s finished earned her a spot on the All-MEAC Team and helped the Lady Bears to a sixth-place finish with a total of 151 points.
